How to calculate shipping costs

Shipping charges for a large shipment are applied to the heavier weight between two measures, a net weight and a volume weight.
* What is a net weight?
It is an actual weight of shipment.
* What is a volume weight?
It is an assumed weight of shipment according to its size.
Most of transportation companies limit the weight or the volume of shipment due to their capacity of the transportation according not to the weight but to the volume primarily.
Thus cargo rates are mainly determined by its assumed weight (volume weight).
* How to calculate a volume weight
5,000 cm3(cube centimeters) = 1kg
[As an example: a car spare part ("a frontal part")]
Measurements: 190.0cm(in width)×37.0cm (in height)×66.5cm(in depth) Net Weight: 6.4kg
Net Weight: 6.4 kg
Volume Weight: 190×37×67*÷5000=94.202*
About 95 kg
*The figures after the decimal fractions are rounded off.
In this example, the volume weight is heavier than the net weight. Thus the shipment is charged as a 95kg cargo.
When you ask for our service,

The shipment with the weight more than 30 kilograms, that with the longest length more than 1.5 meters, or that with the combined length of the longest length and the round length more than 3 meters is considered as a large shipment.
Thus shipping fees and service charges of the large shipment differ from those of the ordinary shipment.

Since the large shipment to some countries cannot be handled, please consult us before requesting for our service.
The large shipment is sent by DHL, UPS or sea mail service (only for the United States) by our allied shipping companies.
When we prepare for your shipment at the "BFC", After receiving your goods, we start preparing the shipment under your directions or wishes. We would appreciate your cooperation if certain documents may be required for the large shipment unlike the ordinary shipment.
If the condition of the packing for your goods is not good enough, we may recommend you to take additional packing with either wooden or reinforcing materials. (Please keep in mind, in this case, that it is additionally chargeable.)
The customs declaration as well as the invoice are prepared either in English or in French.
Thus if you have any requests regarding the declared value of your goods or ways of writing, please let us know your wish by using a column of Option Remarks.
About the customs under shipment Any customs duty on your goods depends on customs officers of the land. Thus we are not in position to tell you it in advance.

You are solely responsible for any customs duty on your goods asked by the local customs.
In case of your shipment returned to our office, because of duty refusal or otherwise, please keep in mind that you are respossible for any costs of the return.
Regarding the large shipment, the procedures of export and import are different from those for the smaller packages. Thus you are asked to provide the detailed contents of your goods as you can.
About confiscation or delay due by the customs under shipment We are not responsible at all for any confiscation or delay of your goods by the local customs.
Any of your goods returned to our office due to prohibition or restriction are informed you by e-mail and then are kept for a month.
About restitution under shipment Any compensation for damages, loss, robbery, or delay under shipment is taken care of by the shipping company(the third party) according to its compensation regulation of shipment.
We do claim the shipping company for compensation and take a procedure on your behalf. However we ourselves do not compensate you.
Compensation ceiling is based on the value of the invoice declared to the shipping company.
Insurance policey is only applied in the condition of re-shipping. There is, therefore, no refund of shipping fees in case of no re-shipping involved. (Compensation ceiling is up to the value of the invoice.)
The fees for re-shipping of exchanging goods due to damage or loss are taken care of by the shipping company. (In case of no re-shipping involved, there is no refund of shipping fees.)
We cannot claim the shipping company in any cases, of course, if you haven't insured your goods.
The shipping company cannot be claimed if there is false declaration of the contents of your goods at the point of your application.
Please keep in mind that confiscation of your goods by the local customs cannot be compensated.
